- DIDACTICAL ACTIVITIES: MUSEUM “ROUTES” – Lectures and laboratories for the schools
Made for primary schools (elementary and middle school), they’re mainly about history and integrate the ministerial program. These units cover the period from Prehistory to the Middle Ages and constitute a sort of monographic closer-study about the archaeological sites, the museums and the artistic and architectonical heritage related to our town. Considering that the final target of the museum “routes” is giving the pupils the right instruments to understand how the historical succession acted on our territory and to be able to get its practical aspects – as for example the activities of everyday life- each single unit consists of lectures (with propaedeutic purpose), laboratories ( simulation of activities and reproductions of artifacts made with the techniques of the past) and guided tours to the museums and to the archaeological areas of our territory at the end of the “route”, in order to be able to apply what learnt to the referring context. Lectures and laboratories are carried out directly inside the school, during the school timetable. Any activity can be chosen by the teachers, one at the time or together with any other didactical activity.“route”.
We constantly try to add new Didactic Routes, both historic- archaeological and creative ones, not only inside our Museum but also outside in order to explore the territory. To better meet teachers’ request, we offer geologic and mining routes, in order to promote the knowwledge of the Geopark of the Metalliferous Hills.
